Keeping up the pressure on Puma in London

Keeping up the pressure on Puma in London

Over 20 campaigners from London PSC Branches joined the monthly protest outside PUMA’s flagship store in Carnaby Street London on Saturday 9 February.  Included were campaigners from Harringey, Enfield, West London, Camden, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Lambeth & Wandsworth, Harrow.

The large Boycott PUMA banner which we placed in front of the shop window and the number of campaigners we had with placards and flags created real impact and interest.  We handed out hundreds of Boycott PUMA flyers.

Among the several passers-by who stopped to talk with us was a French group including Puma BDS campaigner from Marseille.  There was a long discussion in Italian with another group.  We were challenged by few Israeli males who had a very crude and inaccurate understanding of what’s happening in their country.  They loudly demanded to know if we had visited Israel, and were taken-back – and moved on – when many of us told them we had and that we had observed Israeli apartheid and the results of the Occupation first-hand !
