The campaign has written to the FAW about the Euro 2016 competition in which Wales has been drawn to play against Israel in March and September 2015.
Last May we asked the FAW to censor the Israeli Football Association (IFA) for its complicity in the repression of Palestinian football. Since then there has been negligible progress: international travel by Palestinian footballers is still hampered, and racist actions by the IFA within Israel continue.
On 11 January this year we wrote to the FAW saying that we do not believe that Israel should play in EURO 2016. “We think that it is up to FIFA and UEFA to take action and suspend the IFA. This is what our campaign is fighting for and we urge the FAW to support us in future.” We also copied to them our letter to players. For full texts of letters see Campaigns/Wales 2015.
